A fantastic town environment with cosy squares, lots of art and culture, and most of all incredibly exciting specialty shops and an inspiring Nørreport Center which – together with Nyholm Center outside central town where the large stores are situated – make the setting for an exciting shopping experience in Holstebro.
The Pedestrian street, Nørregade, in Holstebro opened in 1962 and is one of the oldest in Denmark. In 2001 a renovation of the tiling started with Bjørn Nørgaard as the artist behind the project.
Besides the tiling, Bjørn Nørgaard also made room for 3 circles of art in the pedestrian street: The eye of Odin, The source of life and The Hand of Jesus. Furthermore the pedestrian street is decorated with several sculptures throughout the entire street, amongst them: Giacometti’s “Woman on cart”.
The street offers a large variety of retail stores, cafés and restaurants. At night this is also the area where it is possible to experience the nightlife of Holstebro.
